Your meat will arrive in an insulated box designed to maintain fridge temperatures (4-7ºC) throughout the delivery period. While our orders are shipped via 24-hour courier, our packaging has been rigorously tested to keep your items protected and chilled for up to 48 hours from dispatch.
For most orders, we use recyclable cardboard boxes paired with a recycled paper-based liner for insulation. If an order is very small or very large, we may need to use polystyrene boxes, but we are actively working to source a more sustainable alternative for these situations.
Our paper-based liners offer an environmentally friendly method for keeping your meat cold during transit. This innovative insulation system is crafted from 100% recycled materials. By turning cardboard waste into a dense paper pulp to create a highly effective layer of insulation that is then sandwiched between durable Kraft paper. This plastic-free solution ensures excellent thermal protection for your products. Once you’ve unpacked your order, simply place the liner in your household recycling bin to complete its cycle within the paper chain.
To keep your meat perfectly chilled, we include EcoChill™ gel ice packs from Puffin Packaging Ltd. These packs are non-toxic, safe to handle, and reusable if in good condition. When it’s time to dispose of them, you can pour the gel into your general waste bin and recycle the outer plastic either via your local council or at supermarket recycling points.
You don’t need to worry if the contents touch your skin as this is a non-toxic substance and safe to use, however they are not for human consumption and should be kept out of the reach of children.
As part of our sustainability efforts, we’ve completely eliminated polystyrene trays from our packaging. Products that don’t require extra support are vacuum-packed to reduce waste. For those that do, we use trays which are either biodegradable and compostable or recyclable.
