Our turkeys are farmed by our neighbour, Oli Parker, to a very high welfare standard. The birds are reared slowly (the traditional way) and are completely free range, with access to outside pasture. The birds are hand fed daily on a diet of largely home-grown cereal based diet. Their longer and less stressful life shows in their superior flavour and tenderness compared to a supermarket bird.
Bronze and the traditional white turkeys are all available at Christmas only. The Bronze turkeys are slightly smaller and slower growing than the white turkeys and, as a result, are a little more expensive. However, the later maturity of these breeds do offer a richer flavour.
