Goat is the most widely consumed meat worldwide, though it is less commonly found in the UK. With a flavour and texture similar to mutton, goat offers a distinctive and satisfying taste and lends itself to low and slow cooking.
Our goat comes from free-range Andalusian breeds in southern Spain. These flocks are primarily raised for milk and cheese production so the meat comes from either younger male kids or older nanny goats. They produce a low-fat carcase with a good meat percentage and a rich, robust flavour.
All our goat meat is Halal certified. This is because there is insufficient demand for non-Halal goat in the UK, meaning European suppliers focus exclusively on Halal production to serve their primary markets. Halal certification ensures animals are healthy at the time of slaughter and are handled according to Islamic practises.
